Growing out of the Railway Engineering Corps, China Railway Construction Corporation Limited (Abbreviated as CRCC) was founded by the Head Office of China Railway Construction solely on November 5, 2007 in Beijing, and is now a mega size construction corporation under the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council.

CRCC is one of the largest and most powerful mega size multiple construction corporations in China and in the world. It has ranked as the 485th in 2006 and the 384th in 2007 respectively among the 500 top enterprises in the world. Over a span of nine years in succession, it has been on the list of “the 225 largest global contractors” and came as the sixth in 2006. CRCC was a successful candidate for the 500 top enterprises in China in both 2006 and 2007, ranking the 20th and the 15threspectively. CRCC contracting turnover has been ranking the first among the enterprises in the whole country for three years on end from 2004, which marks CRCC out as the largest contractor in China.

The business of CRCC embraces project contracting, survey, design and consultation, industrial manufacturing, exploitation of real estate, capital operation and logistics. CRCC has built a complete and comprehensive construction industry chain and a perfect system of credentials in the circles including scientific research, planning, survey, design, constructing, superintending, operating and equipment manufacturing, etc. CRCC has established itself as the leading corporation in the design and construction of plateau railway, high-speed railway, expressway, bridges, tunnels and urban track transportation projects. CRCC has won more than 240 national awards on project contracting and survey, design and consultation since the 80s of last century.

CRCC business covers the 31 provinces (excluding Taiwan), municipalities, autonomous regions, the Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions as well as over 60 foreign countries and regions in the world. CRCC has completed 287 overseas projects with 137 other projects under construction.

The corporation possesses powerful professional staffs including one academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, five national masters on survey and design and 188 experts who enjoy the special State Council allowance.
